The Disaster Management Expo is a free event that is open to the public. It is a great opportunity to learn about disaster preparedness and response, and to connect with organizations that are working to reduce disaster risk. This event will take place at the Multipurpose Cultural Center (St. John’s), on October 13th, 2023 from 10 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon.
Thus, this Expo is promoted by the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS). In addition, several organizations support this event as partners. Disasters can strike at any time, so it’s important to be prepared. The Disaster Management Expo can help you learn about the risks your community faces and how to stay safe in the event of a disaster.
Since 1989, the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction has been a major global event, promoted by the United Nations to foster a culture of risk awareness and disaster reduction around the world. Each year, people and communities around the world come together to celebrate their efforts to reduce exposure to disasters and highlight the importance of mitigating the risks they face.
